Zonnebloem Cabernet Sauvignon

1961

What came first, the farm or the brand? This bottle of South African Cabernet Sauvignon history was made from grapes grown on Simondium farm of Zonebloem, then owned by Maurice Crouse, after Stellenbosch Farmers and Winery acquired the brand name and grew the brand, it continued to source grapes from Crouse's vineyards, including them with that bought in from elsewhere. There are no recent tasting notes for this wine - but it is a true unicorn, an opportunity to own a part of South Africa's vinous history.
