Q: How do I know if I must withdraw my wine?

Your statement shows which products we have in storage for you and gives an indication of their maturation status. Wines with a status of:

  1. Further maturation not advised
  2. Well matured to enjoy now
  3. Enjoy over the next 2/4 years
  4. Enjoy over the next 5 years

Need to be withdrawn from the Bergkelder Wine Bank before 31 January.

Q: How does the withdrawal process work?

Complete the Wine Withdrawal Form (insert link) and send to the team at winebankmembership@distell.co.za.
They will process the application and inform you of any outstanding maturation fees, less the 15% discount, as well as our various payment methods.
Once these fees are reflected in our bank account, your wines will be delivered to an address of your choice, anywhere within South Africa.

Q: My wines are past their maturation potential, but I wish to continue to cellar them.

Unfortunately, the Bergkelder Wine Bank will not be able to keep these wines in temperature controlled storage past the 31st of January.
We can however put you in contact with a reputable cellaring service and arrange to transfer these wines on your behalf.

Q: What changes will there be to the Wine Bank services and perks after the 31st of January 2022?

We will be launching new benefits and improved functionality of our online platform during 2022 and will be able to share more details shortly.
Along with these changes we have updated our terms and conditions.
