Time is a friend to these Italian varietals, having gained wonderful complexity, with the red fruit and herbal perfume now further broadened by more earthy, leathery notes, a hint of smoke and tar, and sweeter, sundried fruit. The palate is plush and completely seamless, but very alive, looking more elegant in its mature state.
